18th Annual “H-E-B Challenge” blood drive invites grocery shoppers to boost blood supply during urgent need

Carter BloodCare is counting on the employees of H-E-B stores in Central Texas to help encourage blood donation this summer, amid an urgent need. It is the 18th Annual “H-E-B Challenge” blood drive when the grocery chain prioritizes blood donation awareness. Summer is the season when blood donors are traditionally harder to find. Since the pandemic, Carter BloodCare and blood programs nationwide, have suffered the worst blood shortage in decades. Blood donors of all blood types are needed now and new blood donors are encouraged to give it a try.

Hospitals need blood products at all hours, Waxahachie donors answer the call

Blood is not easy to come by, especially this time of year and during a pandemic. However, hospitals continue to order blood products for their transfusion-dependent patients at all hours, when moments could mean the difference between life and death. Carter BloodCare reminds the community that even in the midst of a pandemic, it is still safe to donate blood and patients are counting on those donations.

Walmart, Austin Avenue United Methodist Church, Greater Waco Early Education Center invite community to give at lifesaving blood drives

WACO, Texas (October 23, 2018) – The marvels of modern medicine include the ability to transfuse living tissue – blood – from one person to another. Volunteer blood donors, like those in Waco make it possible to treat acute disease, chronic conditions, even cancers. That is a reason to give countless thanks. Carter BloodCare delivers transfusion services for north, central and east Texas hospitals, for patients that number in the hundreds, daily. Treatments, such as chemotherapy, are heavily supported with blood or platelets “at the ready.”  Additionally, the life-saving capabilities are not possible without 1,000 volunteers giving blood every day

Offer these October treats: lifesaving gifts of blood donation

ENNIS, Texas (October 16, 2017) – October brings out the pranks and parties, in addition to the vampire jokes directed at blood-collections staff with Carter BloodCare. One suggestion for those donors is to consider the person who might receive your donated gift of blood.
