HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas (July 3, 2017) – This summer marks the 14th Annual H-E-B Blood Drive Challenge. The grocery chain’s community partnership boosts blood donations in the summer months, one of the lowest periods for blood collections. Carter BloodCare and H-E-B have partnered together since 2002 for the blood drive that is hosted at various H-E-B locations in central Texas. The 2017 H-E-B Challenge will take place from June 24 through July 9.

Summer is the single most difficult season for Carter BloodCare to recruit blood donors. And the blood transfusions required for many patients cannot wait until temperatures come down.
