Tarrant County gears up for second annual Big Give

FORT WORTH, Texas (February 7, 2017) – In Tarrant County, you either “go big or go home.” The second annual ‘Big Give’ is coming to Tarrant County this week. And if the event is half as successful as the 2016 Big Give, it will strengthen the community blood supply in a big way.

Community blood supply has reached critical level

DALLAS/FORT WORTH, Texas (Jan. 3, 2017) – Carter BloodCare is asking for the greater community’s help as the blood supply in a 56-county area has reached a level of urgent need. Volunteer blood donations are a critical link to help prevent disruptions in patient care at hospitals.

Statement From Carter BloodCare Concerning Zika Virus

Carter BloodCare is closely monitoring the fluid developments in the state of Florida, concerning the Zika virus. Our staff receives daily updates on newly announced Zika-risk areas. Added to the list now, are Broward and Miami-Dade counties in Florida. This is part of the pre-donation screening process.

Blood products delivered for Fort Hood shooting response

KILLEEN, Texas (Apr. 2, 2014) – As of 7 p.m. Central Daylight Time, Carter BloodCare reports that area hospitals requested specific blood products to support their care of the injured from the Fort Hood shooting. Several people died and others were injured during a shooting early this evening.

Inclement weather hampers blood collections

DALLAS/FORT WORTH/WACO/TYLER, Texas (Dec. 6, 2013) – Due to extremely icy conditions throughout much of north and central Texas, Carter BloodCare has closed all blood donation centers in those areas and cancelled all community blood drives.
